Introduction to Birding Workshop

If you are a beginning birder, or you just want to brush up on your skills, join us for a birding ID workshop.

We’ll look at avian families, habitat, behaviour and “diagnostics” to identify the species we see in the field. We’ll also investigate the equipment you may be interested in, like birding ID books and apps, binoculars, etc. We’ll end with a walk through the Marsh in to see what’s around!

Where: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
When: Saturday, September 18 from 9am-11am
How much: $20.00 per person
Price includes admission to our interpretive centre and trails for day following the workshop to go out and utilize your new found skills at birding.

About the Instructor: 

This workshop will be hosted by Patrick Jackson, Wye Marsh’s Stewardship Manager. Patrick will help you identify calls, show you the best locations for bird sightings, offer excellent photo tips and give you insider information about the wetlands and two forest types at Wye Marsh.
