Ceremony Locations at Wye Marsh
Outdoor covered location suitable for up to 100 people. Located adjacent to the parking lot, this space is accessibility friendly. The pavilion offers protection from the elements, and can be decorated beautifully for a rustic feel.
Outdoor location suitable for up to 130 people. Located a 3 minute walk from Visitor Centre/ parking lot. This secluded meadow offers you flexibility in the design of your ceremony arrangement.
Outdoor location suitable for an intimate ceremony up to 30 people. The boardwalk is perhaps one of the most iconic views of Wye Marsh. Say “I do” surrounded by cattails, turtles, and a chorus of wetland activity.
Indoor location suitable for 100 people. Located within the Visitor Centre.
* Delivery to location only, does not include set-up. Items to be moved cannot exceed 50 lbs, 23 kg.
** Security deposit returned two business days after event, or retained if Wye Marsh (1) required to be on-site after hours and not pre-booked (2) clean-up of site by Wye Marsh staff (including decorations) required (3) wedding party or guests have alcohol on-site.

Weddings at Wye Marsh FAQs:
How do I book my wedding at Wye Marsh?
Staff will work with you to confirm times, dates, location and options, after which you will be provided with a written confirmation. A deposit of $250.00 is required within 2 weeks of receipt of the confirmation to secure the date and time, along with a security deposit authorization. Final payment is required minimum of 2 weeks before your ceremony. Payment can be made via credit card online, or over the phone at 705-526-7809. Cash, credit, or debit are all accepted in person at Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.
Does Wye Marsh rent chairs or arbours?
Arbours are not available. Chairs are only available for weddings in the classroom provided they are reserved at least 2 weeks prior to the day of the ceremony.
Does Wye Marsh provide help with set up?
Staff can assist you with moving items from the main or staff parking lot to your venue provided no one item exceeds 50 lbs. or 23 kgs and the request for staff assistance is reserved at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the ceremony. The fee for this is $150.00+hst which covers up to two hours.
What if we would like to have a later ceremony?
Wye Marsh regular business hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ceremonies may be reserved in the period 1 hour prior to opening or at sunrise, whichever is later, or 1 hour after closing or at sunset, whichever is earlier. The price is $100.00 per hour or part thereof.
What if it’s raining?
We welcome you to book a rain location ahead of time for $175.00 +hst. This will ensure that you are covered! If you book a rain location, we require 24 hours of notice as to which location you will be using before the start of your ceremony.
What if we need to cancel?
A cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged if notice is given 30 days or more from the date of your wedding, a cancellation fee of $150.00 will be charged if notice is given 29 - 14 days from the date of your wedding, and no refund will be issued for cancellations less than 14 days from the date of your wedding.
Can I decorate the ceremony location?
You are welcome to set up your ceremony location as early as 9:00 a.m. on the day of. All décor must be removed immediately following the ceremony. Wye Marsh is not responsible for any items left unattended. Decorations are allowed provided there are no stakes placed in the ground or nails or other fastening devices put into trees. Signs may be placed on trees using string, twine, or wool and must be loosely tied. Confetti and tents are not allowed.
Can we book a rehearsal?
Yes! Rehearsals are included in the cost of a ceremony location, provided that they are within regular Wye Marsh business hours of 9:00am-5:00pm. You can arrange for your rehearsal outside of regular business hours provided the after hours fee is paid in advance.
What is the security deposit?
Wye Marsh requires valid credit card authorization to charge a security deposit. This deposit will only be charged if the wedding party violates the booking agreement, including: if there are late fees incurred that were not pre-arranged; if staff is required to remove any items or trash from the ceremony site; if the wedding party or guests consume any alcoholic beverages on the premises.
