This isn’t going to be your run of the mill camping meals, kraft dinner and hotdogs won’t be found here.

We will take a look at the role nutrition plays in cold weather, how to hit increaded caloric need without increased volume, meal plans and prep, how your food is packed, and which stoves to use will create the perfect Winter camping getaway.

Mak Soden has spent many winter seasons camping within Ontario Parks and Crown Land in almost every kind of shelter and weather that you can imagine. While taking the ODAN program at Algonquin College, he was introduced to the idea of Winter camping and trained by instructor Ben Shillington. Author of the book ‘Winter Backpacking’.
