Winter Camping

Love Camping? Enjoy exploring in the snow? Expand your camping knowledge to enjoy all seasons of an outdoor life and add to your winter preparedness and emergency knowledge. 

In this workshop we will explore what it takes to camp outdoors while it’s -30, and maintain peak warmth and comfort. We will explain different techniques to travel, which gear to choose, and perhaps most importantly, how to stay warm!

Price includes admission to our interpretive centre and trails for day following the workshop.

About the Instructor: 

Mak Soden has spent many winter seasons camping within Ontario Parks and Crown Land in almost every kind of shelter and weather that you can imagine. While taking the ODAN program at Algonquin College, he was introduced to the idea of Winter camping and trained by instructor Ben Shillington. Author of the book ‘Winter Backpacking’.
