Overnight & Day Programs for Scouting and Guiding Groups

Come and experience nature at night…and all day long, while getting exciting badges! Stay for the weekend or a Day and your group can earn up to 3 badges!

The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre’s trained naturalists can provide groups with the outdoor experience necessary to qualify for numerous badges. We offer year round facilities including exciting cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and canoeing and hiking the rest of the year. The Wye Marsh is dedicated to helping your group achieve badges in all seasons. Call reservations for more details.

The Wye Marsh provides several programs to meet some or all of the required criteria for various badges. During your stay we will customize any program to your group’s needs to ensure that you receive the most out of your experience.

Overnight Facilities and Day Program information

We have designed two overnight packages plus a day visit package to best accommodate your groups.

Package one: Wye Weekends
Friday evening until Sunday (2 nights)

  • $35.00 per camper for bunkhouses
  • $30.00 per camper for tenting
  • Minimum 10 paying campers
  • Scout or Guide Leaders free in 5:1 ratio
  • Includes: 3 badges or programs of your choice! You provide your own food/cutlery/cooking items
  • Arrival: Friday by 7 pm, Departure: Sunday before 2 pm

 

Package two: Wye, Your Way
Any number of days

  • $30.00 per camper per night for bunkhouses
  • $25.00 per camper per night for tenting
  • Minimum of 10 paying campers
  • Scout or Guide Leaders free in 5:1 ratio
  • Includes:2 badge or programs
  • You provide your own food/cutlery/cooking items
  • Arrival: 10 am, Departure: 2 pm

Day Visits!

Come and earn badges during a day visit! One of our qualified outdoor educators will lead your group in a 2-hour session to earn each badge. From cross-country ski and snowshoe badges in winter, to wildflower and canoe badges in the spring and fall – we do it all!

  • 1 badge: $7.50/person, 2 hr visit (half day)
  • 2 badges: $11.50/person, 4 hr visit plus lunch break (full day, bring your own lunch)
  • 3 badges: $16.50/person, 6 hr visit plus lunch and snack breaks (extended day, visit bring your own lunch and snacks)

Facilities Offered

The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre has great facilities to make your overnight stay a memorable one. We can accommodate up to 500 campers! Click on a thumbnail to see a larger photo of our facilities.

Tenting

Tenting:

  • Emergency portable
  • Forest glade, includes flat area for tents, fire pit, and sitting stumps
  • Washroom facilities in visitor centre (flush toilets, sinks, heated)
  • We have space for up to 100 campers tenting!
  • Firewood is avaible for $10 for the weekend

Outside Pavillion

Bunkhouses:

  • Up to 24 Campers including leaders on 22 wooden bunk beds with 24 mattresses in a rustic heated cabin
  • Kitchen/common cabin between bunkhouses with electric heat, stove, fridge, tables, chairs, woodstove, sink, pots and pans
  • Fire pit with firewood avaible for $10, grill and benches
  • Washroom facilities in visitor centre (flush toilets, sinks, heated)
  • Pavilion shelter for games or picnics
  • Firewood is avaible for $10 for the weekend
Open Concept RoomOpen Concept Kitchen

Open concept room:

  • Up to 38 Campers sleep on the floor of a giant classroom.
  • Includes attached kitchen and bathroom facilities, heated for the winter.
  • Electric heat, stove, fridge, tables, chairs, sink, pots and pans
  • Fire pit with firewood avaible for $10, grill and benches

* All Facilities and trails are wheelchair accessible
* Please DO NOT bring in firewood from outside Wye Marsh
