Upcoming Events

In addition to our special events we also have regular activities at the marsh.  Catch our Birds of Prey Show every Sunday at 1pm or Wet N' Scaly Show every Saturday at 1pm.  Visitors can also learn more about the Trumpeter Swan Restoration Program every day at 3pm.

  • Family Outdoor Fun Day, February 16
    Have fun outdoors this Family Day. There will be fun and interactive activities all day, from 10am to 4pm. Explore the trails by ski or snowshoe and stop to hand feed chickadees. Warm up by an open fire while roasting bannock and sipping cedar or wintergreen tea. Experience the best of winter fun by taking on the Wye Marsh Winter Olympic Challenge. See some our native reptiles and amphibians up close and learn what makes them unique. All visitors will be entered to WIN a Family Membership.
  • MPP Garfield Dunlop Lasagna Fundraiser, March 6
    Join Garfiled Dunlop, MPP Simcoe North is his annual lasagna fundraising dinner at Wye Marsh. All the proceeds from the event going to the Friends of Wye Marsh. Sittings are at 4:30pm, 5:30pm & 6:30pm.   • Moonlight Ski & Snowshoe, March 7
    Explore the Marsh under the full moon. Ski and snowshoe trails will be open late, with last admission at 7:30pm. Visitors are welcome to come early and stay late. Our doors will be open from 9am. Cost is general admission or free with membership. Ski and snowshoe rentals are available. Headlamps or flashlights are recommended.
  • Sweetwater Harvest Festival, March 28 & 29
    Celebrate an uniquely Canadian tradition in a distinctively Canadian landscape. Escape to a time when maple syrup was made over an open fire, experience our history and explore nature at its best.
  • Get Outdoors Festival, August 8 & 9
    Explore one of Ontario's largest wetlands by foot, boat or bike. There are over 25km of scenic forested trails, floating boardwalks and canoe channels that let you escape into the Wye Marsh. Experience hummingbird banding and monarch tagging demonstrations, take part in an interactive workshop on birding, backcountry camping or shelter building. See birds of prey soar and learn how to identify native Ontario turtles and snakes in a live animal show. Experience the best of the outdoors at the Get Outdoors Festival.
