Now open to the public, we are offering “Behind The Scenes Tours” with our naturalist's teams that care for Trumpeter Swans, Birds of Prey, and Wet N Scaly Creatures. We also offer Ecotour experiences with a qualified and knowledgeable stewardship staff into some of the most inaccessible areas of Wye Marsh. Behind the ScenesMeet the Trumpeter Swan Coordinator and learn about what this job entails and our progress with the re-introduction program. Tour our feeding facilities, treatment centre, and learn about their diet, life cycle, and behaviours. Experience the life of a falconer and learn about the history and what being a Falconer is all about. This experience will allow you to assist with the bird's daily care and discover individual characteristics and behaviours unique to each of these birds of prey. We also offer an introductory workshop once a month, which will provide you knowledge of the requirements to become a Falconer. Join the Head of our Reptile Department for a behind the scenes look at Reptiles. We will take you into the world of reptile education, handling, safety, and animal keeping as we guide you through a day in the life of a reptile keeper. You will get up close and personal with some of Ontario 's snakes, turtles, and amphibians while learning what it takes to ensure the best possible standard of care. This program includes a canoe turtle survey through the channels of the Wye Marsh. EcotoursThis is your chance to go behind the scenes into the world of wetland research by getting into the thick of things. This adventure will bring you face to face with wetland creatures from Beavers to Frogs, Carnes to a Heron Rookery, and of course, a personal look at our famous Trumpeter Swans. By learning the tips of tracking and birding, you will discover some of Ontario 's most interesting animals and birds who can only be found deep in research cells of this wetland paradise. Wye Marsh has partnered with the following Bed & Breakfasts in our area and we have provided below a link to their website. All packages must be booked and paid through the Bed & Breakfasts.
