Wye Marsh Ski Trails are rapidly becoming the “not so…best kept secret” of the area. This winter ski 25 km of groomed & track-set ski trails through beautifully diverse terrain which meanders through picturesque areas of hardwood forests and cedar groves. There are an additional 10 km of hiking and snowshoe trails that take you through our intrepretitive trails and boardwalk.
NEW! Wye Marsh Ski Club
Are you a member interested in joining the Wye Marsh Ski Club?
If so, contact Paul Wismer, a skiing member of the Friends of Wye Marsh at:
(705)812-0874 or email@example.com
The Wye Marsh Ski Club will function as a special interest group at Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.
There is a small, energetic committee to represent the interests of the skiing members. It will be recommending gradual trail improvements recognizing the limitiations of Wye Marsh (eg. budget and applicable legislation/regulations). The committee will meet with Wye Marsh staff periodically to exchange ideas.
There will be a ski club newsletter to keep the members informed. It's intended that the ski club members will meet 2-3 times a year to decide upon what's next. For example, it's anticipated that some of the members may want to organize a day of skiing elsewhere. Scenic caves come to mind. Some members may be interested in providing lessons for beginners. Feedback from members will influence the club functions.
It is important to note the following:
O There is no intent to become a Nordic Centre. O There can only be classic style skiing due to trail make-up. O We must preserve the 'wilderness' setting. O There is no additional fee to be a Ski Club Member
Please note that as of March 29th, 2014 our ski and snowshoe rentals are no longer available.
